Pregnant and getting my butt kicked!

Well, we went on vacation and found out we were pregnant while in the Bahama's. Maybe that's what everyone needs to do....go to the Bahama's during their TWW!! Anyway, just wondering if the fatigue I am feeling is normal. I was expecting to be tired...but not so early in the pregnanacy. We are at 5 1/2 weeks. In the afternoon I am so wiped out i can hardly see straight! Any advice for remedies to help with this? We are very excited...although, it's still very early in the pregnancy. We go for our first ultrasound on the 17th of this month.

Turnerjam, First off CONGRATULATIONS! Yes, feeling tired is definately shocking. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was extremely tired the first 12 weeks. After that things lighten up in the second trimester. The best remedy that I can tell you is sleep, sleep, sleep, and relax. That is what got me through those weeks. Good luck and Happy healthy 9 months to you both! Crystal

crymel04, Thanks for the support! I am getting the rest I need. I just feel like I am the laziest person in the world. I guess it's all for a GREAT cause, though!

Yes, exhaused and fatigued completely describe my first 13 weeks of pregnancy. Plus the added nausea, dizzyness, and smell aversions. We just entered our 15th week and it is sooo much better. Not nearly as tired. And there's no nausea, or aversions to food. I'm a bit dizzy at times (particularly when I'm riding in the backseat).
Hang in there. The sicker you are, the more you know that the baby is growing and healthy. :) If you had no symptoms, you would be worried. Take care, ProudMoms

maybe42, Thanks! What's your current status?? I am doing great with the pregnancy. We will be 8 weeks on Friday! Other than being tired, I feel great. NO nausea other than a little bit the first 3 days. We did get to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound. That was amazing!! Good luck to you!

crymel04, Just an update. With a heavy heart I have say the we lost the baby on 11/1. We went in for a routine ultrsound and the baby had not grown and there was no longer a heartbeat. It was a rough few days but we decided to have a D&C instead of letting it miscarry on it's own. I was not spotting and my cervix was tight...so it could have taken a long time. There was no reason that the doctor could give other than it was Mother nature's way (or God will). Reagrdless, we are slowly getting back to "normal"...whatever that means. One thing about the tragedy....it has brought my partner and I to another level of closeness that I had no idea even existed. I think you can find a true person's character in a time like this....her character and strength was nothing short of amazing!! I know that I am the luckiest woman in the world to have her by my side each and every day! Keep us in your prayers!

Hi, Jamie. All sorts of hugs to you from out here in the internet ether. I'm so glad you have such a good partner to support you. I know it's true what the doctor says about Mother Nature making the best decision for reasons only She and your body know and aren't telling, but I also know it doesn't make what happened any easier. Best, best, best wishes that your next attempt is the one that's Right.

Alice, Thank you for your kind words. We will try again after the holiday's. We don't know when I will get my next "normal"period, so we will have to just wait and see how the timing all works out! Thanks for the support!! I will keep the bulletin posted on our progress.

Turnerjam,
I was so sorry to read of your loss. For what it is worth, I also experienced an early loss this year, in late March. It was very, very difficult at first, especially when it came time to "untell" all the people who I had shared me exciting news with just a few weeks earlier. (I miscarried at eight and a half weeks.) My RE advised me to wait until I had had 2 periods before trying again, which I did. I am happy to say that I got pregnant again on the very next cycle. Nonetheless, I was not able to really enjoy this pregnancy until I made it past the 12 week mark....but alas, I am now 24 1/2 weeks and over the moon. My son is due late February/early March. I'm sending you both healing energy and future baby dust!

Cantwait, I am sorry that I am just getting back with you. I guess I haven't been in the "mood" to log onto this sight in light of what has happened. However, slowly I am getting back into the groove!
Thanks for sending the positive energy my way. We will try again probably in January. However, next time I am not telling anyone....I will probably post on this site, since I will probably HAVE to tell someone!! I am just not going to tell family and co-workers!!
I am happy to hear that you are expecting. It gives me hope! Continued well wishes with your journey....
