I am just wandering how everyone is able to handle so many ICI's and IUI's. I have had one failed ICI, the total cost was $2,000+. I am planning an IUI in April, I think I have found a doctor to perform this procedure much cheaper, approximately $700+. My insurance, BCBSga, covers only testing, blood work and office visit.
I cannot afford to do more than 1 or 2 procedures a year.
I could not do it if it weren't for Kaiser. They pay 1/2 for all the labs, testing, et cetera. Each insemination has cost me $41. It's cost me about $220 total with them, plus two IUI vials through the bank ($400/$500). I tested positive this morning after my 2nd IUI attempt. I had already decided if it didn't work after half a dozen times with AI, I would not continue to pursue it because I could not afford it. Good luck!
The way my husband and I are handling the cost is honestly through prayer and lots of it. When we started this process we had no idea how we were going to pay for it all. Then 2 weeks ago the Lord answer our prayers):). Between our tax refund, the extra paycheck this month(we are paid weekly) and 2 weeks ago my husband was offered overtime for three weeks, we are going to be able to pay for the procedure without having more obnoxius credit card debit. For every couple/person going through this I pray they have the same good fortune. The Lord has his reasons for everything and even though we may not understand, He does show us why when we are ready to see or listen. No matter how you end up paying for all that is ahead of you, you will get it done, have patience and prayer
