Return Vials 05/27/08 1:45 PM Do many people return vials?. Two years ago I had a little girl with donor 3741 since then I've called every month hoping someone will return vials. I've been match to another similiar donor however I really hoped that a few vials would be returned so she could have a sibling. Do you ever contact people who may have vials stored for a long time and ask them if they can release a few vials that others have siblings with? |

Re: Return Vials 05/28/08 3:04 PM MOMD, While some vials are eventually returned, it is rare. One of the biggest challenges we face is how to stress the importance of storing extra vials when most of our clients are understandibly so focused on simply having child #1. The fact is that the majority of them eventually decide to have a second child, whether they originally planned to or not. Once they decide to store "just in case" it is difficult to convince them to part with the vials until they are 150% sure they have finished adding to their family. Are you on the notification list for donor 3741? If not, simply contact our Parent Services Team at 866-9-CRYOBANK (927-9622)and asked to be added. If any vials are returned, we check this list prior to releasing them back to the catalog. Also, you should try posting a message on the Sibling Registry. I know of clients that have had luck finding vials this way in the past. Because we place such a high value on protecting our clients' privacy, we do not generally contact them in instances such as these. In the limited times we have attempted to do so, we have had very little luck. I hope this is helpful. Feel free to contact me directly at sbrown@cryobank.com if I can be of any more help. Good luck, Scott |
