Los Angeles, CA (July 2004) - California Cryobank Inc. (CCB), the leading U.S. and international sperm bank, has introduced a Sibling Registry to help connect clients and offspring with potential half-siblings.The CCB Sibling Registry, the first offered by a leading sperm bank, provides a way for clients to extend their family circle. Over 100 clients have already registered for the CCB Sibling Registry.
Any California Cryobank client who had a child using a CCB donor may participate in the Sibling Registry. Adult children over age 18 may also participate. The program includes e-mail notification of potential sibling matches, client profiles, and a Sibling Registry bulletin board.
"Clients interested in 'expanding' their family, or those who are curious about potential siblings, have expressed interest in this type of program," said Marla Eby, Vice President of Marketing for California Cryobank. "The Cryobank is in the best position to confirm client status and the purchase of vials for a particular donor."
Participation in the CCB Sibling Registry is optional. There is an annual, non-refundable fee of $25 per subscription. The fee covers initial research on client status, registration, e-mail messages each time there is a potential sibling match, and client participation in the Sibling Registry Bulletin Board.
