California Cryobank Welcomes New Medical Director Jaime Shamonki, M.D.

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

Los Angeles, CA - California Cryobank (CCB), a worldwide leader in frozen tissue services, announces a key addition to the company's executive team: Medical Director Jaime Shamonki, M.D.

Working closely with CEO/Corporate Medical Director Charles Sims, M.D., Shamonki brings an extensive background in pathology as well as an impressive CV to the Cryobank team.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Shamonki joining the organization," explains Sims. "She is a fantastic clinician who not only thoroughly understands the regulatory side of our industry, but also possesses a compassion and concern for our clients' that has been a hallmark of California Cryobank's long history."

"I could go on and on about Jaime, but I think what it all adds up to is, she's an absolute star," says Co-Founder Dr. Cappy Rothman.

Shamonki is currently an Associate Professor at Santa Monica's John Wayne Cancer Institute, and joins CCB after seven years as a pathologist at Saint John's Health Center, where she served as Section Head, Breast Surgical Pathology and Blood Bank Medical Director.

A magnum cum laude graduate of University of Vermont, as well as the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Shamonki completed her residency and a Breast Pathology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College, as well as a surgical pathology fellowship at UCLA.

"California Cryobank has always been known for promoting the highest medical standards for donor screening and specimen quality," says Pamela Richardson, President of CCB's Reproductive Division. "Adding Dr. Shamonki to our team will allow us to continue to build on these traditions established by Dr. Sims and Dr. Rothman over the last 37 years."

Founded in 1977, California Cryobank is one of the world's oldest and largest donor sperm banks. CCB is registered with the FDA, accredited by the AATB (American Association of Tissue Banks), licensed by the states of California and New York, and has a CLIA licensed clinical laboratory. HOW MANY VIALS DO I NEED?

National averages range from 3-4 insemination cycles per successful pregnancy. We recommend purchasing at least 5 vials per child to guarantee your donor remains available until reaching your personal family goals. Additionally, you get 1 Year FREE storage if you purchase 4 or more vials ($475 value).

WHY SHOULD I THINK ABOUT STORING VIALS?

Our donors sell out and retire quickly! We have thousands of clients forced to choose between a new donor or not having a second child because they chose not to store vials for future use while they were available. To help you plan for your future, we offer 3 Years FREE storage if you purchase 3 Years+ vials ($1,050 value) - as well as the ability to sell back any unused vials that have not left our control.
