This unique program grants you exclusive access to a select collection of our donors. Choose either a donor whose vials we will make available to your family only or one with vials we will make available to a limited number of families. Both offer you greater family exclusivity – for today and tomorrow. Check back regularly, as new donors are added often.

We’ve created a select catalog of Reserve Donors, for whom we have a limited number of vials available for purchase and have never sold their vials through California Cryobank. Each of these Reserve Donors has undergone the same comprehensive screening as our other qualified donors to ensure they meet our stringent standards.
You can choose from two types of Reserve Donors.* The difference between the two is the number of family units for these donors that we have available. A family unit consists of 4 of our premium vials, plus 1 IVF vial.
Platinum Reserve:
1 family unit available to purchase
When you choose this type of donor, you’ll reserve all of California Cryobank’s available vials for your selected donor to be purchased (for one price) by you exclusively.
Silver Reserve:
2-10 family units available to purchase
When you choose this type of donor, you’ll reserve the donor’s vials which are available for purchase from California Cryobank by only you and up to nine other families.
*California Cryobank cannot guarantee that a donor in the Donor Reserve Program has not in the past given or will not in the future give through another sperm bank not connected
with California Cryobank. We can only make representations based on the vials and family units for the Donor Reserve Program over which we have control.

PLATINUM RESERVE
TOTAL PROGRAM EXCLUSIVITY
Choosing a Platinum Reserve level donor ensures that the entirety of California Cryobank’s vials of the donor will be held in reserve for only you. You’ll receive 4 premium vials plus 1 IVF vial and any additional vials that are available for that donor. You can choose to use them immediately or store them for use at a later time.

SILVER RESERVE
PARTIAL PROGRAM EXCLUSIVITY
Choosing a Silver Reserve level donor allows you and up to only nine other families to have access to California Cryobank’s vials of the donor. You will receive 4 premium vials plus 1 IVF vial. Any additional vials belonging to the donor will be available, on a first-come first-served basis, for purchase by you or another family who has purchased a family unit of the donor.

FAQ
A family unit consists of: 4 premium vials and 1 IVF vial, specifically from the donor you’ve selected.
- Platinum Reserve level donors have a maximum of 1 family unit available.
- Silver Reserve level donors have a maximum of 10 family units available.
- For Platinum Reserve level donors, no one else can purchase family units. You have purchased the only family unit California Cryobank has of the donor and you have exclusive access to any additional vials we house in our facility.
- For Silver Reserve level donors, anyone else can purchase a family unit, if it’s available. The maximum you can expect is for 9 other families to purchase that donor’s vials from California Cryobank. Any additional vials that California Cryobank has of the donor can be purchased by you or another family who has purchased a family unit of that donor, on a first come first served basis for a fee of $3,000 per vial.
All clients of the Donor Reserve Program will enjoy five years of free storage for their donor’s vials. After five years, you will be subject to the standard storage rate at the time of renewal.
All of your vials will be shipped to you or your clinic when you’re ready, free of charge — even if multiple shipments are required.
No buybacks are available for the Donor Reserve program.
- Clients who choose Platinum Reserve level donors will have exclusive access to all of that donor’s available remaining vials (if any).
- Clients who choose Silver Reserve level donors can purchase any remaining family units or purchase individual vials, on a first come first served basis.
No discounts will be offered when purchasing more than one family unit.
Yes, standard international rules will apply.
Donor reactivation (the opportunity to request additional donations from your donor and purchase those “new” donations) will not be available for Donor Reserve clients.
Donor Reserve clients will follow the same subscription model, rules, and criteria as any other California Cryobank client. This includes the standard rules that apply to receiving your Donor Keepsake, which will be offered once you report your pregnancy.
Yes, in addition to the forms and agreements that any other California Cryobank client has to sign, you will also be asked to sign a Donor Reserve Program agreement.
California Cryobank can only control our own inventory of donor sperm vials and family units. We are able to limit the number of families who can purchase family units and vials of your Donor Reserve Program donor and limit the number of family units we will sell of your Donor Reserve Program donor. However, we cannot stop a donor from donating to another sperm bank or guarantee that a donor has not previously donated to another sperm bank. Therefore, it is possible that your donor has previously made, or will in the future make, donations at another sperm bank.
